Welcome to another book review everyone, I hope you guys are doing well. I know I haven’t really posted a lot of stuff on my blog but trust me I will post a blog every weekend that is Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, one on each day. Now, without boring you guys let’s jump into the review of the book The Inn at Eagle Point.

Overview

The Inn at Eagle Point is a book that is based in a place called The Chesapeake Bay or Chesapeake Shores. The story in this book is based on a family called the O’Briens. The main characters in this book on which the focus is, are Abigail O’Brien aka Abby, Jessica O’Brien aka Jess, and Trace Riley.

If you have seen Chesapeake shores which is on The Hallmark Channel you might be aware of the characters and how they are portrayed on the show. Now, the main plot follows the same pattern which is shown on the show. For people who haven’t watched the show let’s just say the Obrien’s are a very complicated family with the characters having a rough as well as complicated childhood which reflects in their adult life too.

Abby is an independent businesswoman working in New York with her twin daughters Carrie and Caitlyn. She is a very busy woman with a very jam-packed schedule every day at the office but one day her youngest sister, Jess, called for help and Jess usually doesn’t call for help to anyone unless it is a big emergency. So being the eldest sister she packed her bags and went to Chesapeake shores, her home.

This is where things get interesting as well as complicated because O’briens are complicated. As the book title says “The Inn at Eagle Point”, Jess wanted help regarding the Inn which she bought because she wanted independence and there are certain other angles about why she bought the inn but due to certain childhood problem which was not discussed on the show and is mentioned in the book, because of that she got into complications. So, yeah Abby came down to help her little sister. Till here the story goes the same as was portrayed on the show. The twist is Trace Riley, for those who have watched the show and haven’t read the book will be in some or the other emotional state, I don’t want to imply what I think your emotional state would be after finding out.

Trace and Abby were a thing in high school but as life played its part, one left because of priorities and the other one was left heartbroken and after years they finally met again, things started happening again and you know just the usual stuff that happens when old love enters your life again.

So, yeah this book has drama, romance, family, relationship, wanting independence, and something to prove.

My thoughts

I loved the book because I have watched the show which is on the Hallmark channel and that is the main reason why I chose to read this book. It doesn’t matter whether you want to read the book first and then watching the show or vice versa. You can do both at the same time and you will still love it if you like family, drama, romance, and relationships in a book.

The writing style is very simple and easy to understand although there were certain words which generally people don’t use in a book which is definitely is a plus point as it will increase your vocabulary. I did find in certain places that some conversation is going in a certain direction and then in the next, it went completely opposite which will make you think why it was there in the first place.

Conclusion

If you are tired of fast-paced books, don’t want a lot of technicalities to consider, and want some light reading which will make you at ease, bring a smile to your face and reminisce some old lovely memories, well, then this is the book for you. Although the story doesn’t end at The Inn at Eagle Point, there are a series of books which I’ll definitely read and if want to know about the other books in the series and its order, you can click here.

I give ‘The Inn at Eagle Point’ by Sherryl Woods 3.5/5.
